9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. I am the 1 that survived.
September 6, 2021 changed my life and my familes forever. I had a cardiac arrest at home at 4am. My Wife performed CPR before paramedics got there. After 2 weeks in the ICU at St. Vincents, 2 weeks in the step down ICU, I was transfered to Vibra in Portland for Rehab and Tracheostomy weening. I was at vibra for 2 months and was then transfered to Craig Brain Rehab hospital in Denver Colorado where I participed in extensive Brain Rehab for 3 months. I was diaganosed with a Anoxic Brain Injury and had two stents placed. I have been home since March 2022.
Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere, and the readiness of our community can be the difference between life and death.
It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone. Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers.
I Walk to Save Lives. Help me reach my goal today.
